Upon seperating and moving out I found out that everything, credit cards, my car, furniture, everything in my name had not been payed in months by my stbx.  My finances are a mess to say the least.  I saved my car from repo right away.  I'm not in a position financialy to do anything about all this debt anytime soon.  In Texas what are my options?  Can they through me in jail for this?  How much time do I have to do something about it?

Don't know anything about Texas statutes...however it has been my experience that most creditors will be willing to work with you if you are up front and honest with them.  Were I in your shoes, I'd be contacting them asap.

I'd try a nonprofit credit counseling service that will help you consolidate and pay them off.
