if  a person gets married in Alabama to a person who has a criminal debt -- where repayment gets passed on to the person they hurt -- can the criminal court now declare that the assets brought to the marriage by the new spouse are an asset available to the spouse with the criminal judgement?

OD wants to marry.

HE has a history that's OLD, and he's a good guy now.  Many years have passed and I have no concern that history will repeat itself.  Part of his history is re-paying the person he wronged through the criminal court system.  He makes monthly payments.

I (mom) am concerned that once the "wronged person" finds out that he married, they will file something with the criminal court and ask that the monies owed be paid sooner as now he has access to the equity in OD's home.

Can a criminal court order that he get an equity loan to pay off his criminal debt after marriage?

And yes, I'd expect this to happen -- the folks who receive the monthly payment are not well off and would see this as an opportunity to get a "down payment" on a house of their own.  And no, I feel no mercy for them as they've had plenty of opportunity to do this years ago and have chosen to rent an apartment all their lives.
