My STBX and his ex wife went to court a few months back and she got her Periodic alimony extended ten years. He will be 67 in December. (he is going to appeal) From what I understand there "has" to be a substantial and material change in circumstances. His income has dropped aprox. 30K SEVERAL years ago and he did not try to have his 1500 a month alimony reduced. She claims her expenses have gone up aprox. 600 a month but the court had nothing to base that on. Her alimony ended at the end of 08 which at that time he gave her aprox. 150K from retirement that she was awarded in their divorce ten years prior. She has also been collecting almost 960 a month against his SS for the past several months.
I earn aprox. two times the amount STBX earns. We have aquired several investment properties and TOYS over the past eight years. My question is can she secure her alimony by attaching some kind of lien on any real property that we own together?
STBX is two years behind on CS pendente lite order.

I would appeal turning 67, too!  Wink

She absolutely can. This is why it's usually a very bad idea to own joint property of any type with someone who is divorced and/or has a judgment against them. I would suggest you speak with an attorney to see if there is any way you can now separate the joint property w/o the court seeing it as his hiding assets.
