DHR Question
«

I am a resident of Jefferson County. My ex sends money to DHR when he wants to and NEVER what he was ordered to pay. Currently he owes his children 9K. Whenever I call DHR, the rep states that since he is sending "something", I can't go to court. "So, I asked, even though he was ordered to pay 600 per month and only pays 200 every other month, I can go to court?" She stated that was correct.
Do you guys know this to be true? I have left messages for my case-worker to call me back, all to no avail. What is a mother to do?

I'm in the same boat, only Madison county.
my caseworker told me the same thing. My x has paid 9% of what he is supposed to over the last 6 months. He's only paid anything the last 6 months and the total he's paid doesn't even equal one month's court ordered support.
I'm being the squeaky wheet. Be the squeaky wheel. don't take no for an answer. Keep asking the same questions, point out again that this isn't acceptable.
go to the office. I left messages for my caseworker for weeks and never got a call back. Keep trying. I went by their office every month for years before I ever got anywhere. if you don't fight for what your kids are entitled to by law, who will?

Thank you. I think I will also start a letter writing campaign to the judge that worked my case. It's amazing that people get to break the law and get away with it.
