Okay, this one’s just weird. A court in Italy has allowed a man to pay his alimony to his ex-wife in pizza and calzones from his restaurant rather than in cash. The court accepted the assertion of pizza baker Nicola Toso that he was unable to pay the €400 monthly alimony the court had ordered him to pay to his ex, Nicoletta Zuin. It allowed Toso to supply her with pizza and calzones instead.
I can accept that Italian family law is a mystery to me. But in whose universe is pizza an acceptable substitute for cash alimony?
