I believe in stories, and I use them often. I think stories help us understand when a simple recitation of statistics or bare advice wouldn’t sink home. All the stories I share with you here on Divorceinfo.com are real, and the characters are real.
Because the stories are real, however, and because they almost all involve painful chapters in peoples’ lives that they have now (mercifully) left behind them, I am ever so careful that the stories not be identifiable. I hope you can appreciate that.
You should therefore assume that the names I use in a story are fictional. You should assume that I may have changed some of the circumstances in the story to make sure the real folks involved are not recognizable.
You should also assume that I may have combined elements from more than one case into a single story. You should also assume, however, that the changes I have made do not affect the story’s essential truth for people going through divorce.
